Join SCWC on Thursday, July 28 from 10am – 1:30pm at the Pacific Palms Hotel & Conference Center for our 3rd Quarterly Meeting & Luncheon of the year, featuring presentations by influential opinion leaders and discussion on some of California’s most crucial and pressing water issues.
During the meeting, Dr. Lucy Jones, seismologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, will give a presentation on the important relationship between earthquakes and our water supply. This issue is particularly timely as we continually work toward finding a solution for fixing the Delta.
Afterward, Phil Isenberg, chair of the Delta Stewardship Council, will give a keynote presentation about the DSC’s Delta Plan process, and its role in ensuring the long-term health of our water supply.
Don’t miss your chance to participate in this important discussion on water issues. RSVP today by contacting Alex Comisar at acomisar@fionahuttonassoc.com.
Delta Vision Foundation Releases Annual Report Card
The Delta Vision Foundation, established by former members of the Governor’s Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force, released its second annual Report Card late last week, grading state and federal agencies’ progress toward accomplishing the co-equal goals of environmental preservation and water supply reliability in the Delta.
The Foundation determined that some “hopeful” progress has been made by state and federal agencies, but that many improvements still need to be made for the process to be successful.
Along with the Report Card itself, the Foundation also released an executive summary and a press release.

SCWC Stormwater Task Force to Continue Progress on Critical Issues
The SCWC Stormwater Task Force will meet at the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District this Thursday from 1-3pm to continue its work to build consensus on regional solutions for enhancing Southern California’s ability to utilize stormwater as a water resource.
At the meeting, the group will discuss progress on its work with the region’s MS 4 permits, as well as its ongoing collaborative efforts with the Army Corps of Engineers. The Task Force is planning a joint workshop with the Army Corps of Engineers to be held in mid-July.
The meeting will also feature stormwater capture presentations from the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, and the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority.
