BDCP Legislative Hearings Tomorrow-Public Comment Urged

Two informational legislative hearings are being held related to Delta water issues and the Bay Delta Conservation Plan tomorrow in Los Angeles and Sacramento.

Tomorrow’s hearing in Sacramento, being held by the Assembly Parks & Wildlife Committee & Budget Subcommittee, will include a status update on the Bay Delta Conservation Plan from Natural Resources Agency Undersecretary Jerry Meral and a stakeholder panel. We urge those in Sacramento to head to the Capitol tomorrow morning to express support for BDCP during the public comment period.

Tomorrow’s Los Angeles hearing will address an issue of critical importance to SCWC—water reliability and seismic risk. The hearing is being co-hosted by the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management and the Assembly Select Committee on Regional Approaches to Addressing the State’s Water Crisis.

U.S. District Court Judge Wanger to Keynote SCWC’s Annual Dinner; State Senator Jean Fuller Addresses Board at Annual Meeting 

In one of his first appearances since retiring from the bench, Judge Oliver Wanger will serve as the keynote speaker for SCWC’s 27th Annual Dinner on November 17th.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear firsthand Judge Wanger’s truly unique and compelling observations and insights on California water law, regulations and politics. In the past two decades, Judge Wanger has ruled on some of the most important and high profile cases, credited by all stakeholders with insightful and thoughtful deliberations.

SCWC’s Annual Meeting will also have a special guest, State Senator Jean Fuller, who is addressing the SCWC Board of Directors prior to the Annual Dinner on November 17thSenator Fuller will be discussing statewide water issues, including the status of the 2012 water bond. The meeting is open to the public and takes place at 3:30pm at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry.
