SCWC Unveils New Brand Identity and Website to Reflect Expanding Membership and Influence

April 13, 2011

Los Angeles - The Southern California Water Committee (SCWC), a leading voice for regional collaboration on water issues, announced today it has unveiled a brand new look and an upgraded online presence to reflect the organization’s significant membership growth and enhanced statewide influence and profile.

The upgrade comes during a high point in SCWC’s 27-year history, during which the organization’s membership, revenues and education, outreach and advocacy efforts are at an all time high.

“Since SCWC’s founding, our Board has strived to create an organization that leads the way on building broad consensus and effectively informing our region about California’s most critical water issues,” said Charley Wilson, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “This bold new look and the enhanced online capabilities are crucial improvements for our organization, and put us one more step ahead as we continue to build on the significant progress we’ve made in the last few years.”

The package of upgrades, which will be showcased at SCWC’s April 14 Quarterly Meeting, include a new brand identity and logo, which better reflects the strength and unique diversity of SCWC’s broad membership, an enhanced set of informational and marketing materials, and a vastly improved website with greater capabilities and functionality that will help maximize SCWC’s ability to serve members and stakeholders throughout the region.

With the upgrades in place, members and stakeholders will have even better access to breaking news, information, analysis and policy positions concerning California’s most critical water issues. In addition, the new website connects visitors to information on valuable SCWC programming, and offers easy-to-use online event registration and payment options.

“This new platform allows SCWC to connect to our members and the people of Southern California like never before,” Wilson said. “Our revenues and membership numbers are
both currently at all-time highs, and with these new resources in place, we are looking forward to continuing our aggressive push to build broader consensus on water issues, and move our state closer to a secure water future.”

In the coming months, SCWC will utilize this set of improvements to further intensify focus on the organization’s most crucial priorities, including the Bay Delta Conservation Plan and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, 2012 water bond, efforts to increase Southern California’s local water supplies including storm water capture, recycling, enhanced conservation, and many other critical water issues.

“I would also like to thank the special committee of trustees that worked closely with staff to ensure the Board’s vision, mission and objectives were reflected and implemented in this rebrand effort,” add Wilson. “This is a great new foundation for our enhanced efforts and these elements will only improve in time.”
