TRANSPARENCY & COMPROMISE CRITICAL TO SUCCESS OF BAY DELTA CONSERVATION PLAN
Southern California Water Committee Response to Release of BDCP Documents

State and federal agencies announced yesterday that draft documents produced as part of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan will now be available for all parties to review at the same time. The following is a statement from SCWC’s executive director Rich Atwater in response to this decision:

Los Angeles, CA—“We agree the state and federal agencies should embrace those who want to be part of the solution—transparency and inclusiveness are critical to the success of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan.  This is one of the largest public works projects in California and understandably questions emerge, but let’s focus on constructive compromise so we can keep the ball moving forward. The Bay Delta Conservation Plan will provide California with a reliable water supply and a healthy Delta while a do-nothing approach, not surprisingly, gets us nowhere.”
